Edna Obie

My name is Edna Obie,
a teacher in the district for the past nineteen years. I am currently
assigned the position of Special Education Department Chairperson and /
Resource Teacher. As a Department Chairperson, I work under the leadership
of a building principal to perform duties / functions which will enhance the
education of the students with disabilities. As a Resource Teacher, I teach
Reading, Language and Mathematics to those students who meet the qualifying
guidelines set by TEA for Learning Disability or any other handicapping
conditions. As an educator, I strive to see an Angel in every child; bearing
in mind that a child today may become the leader of tomorrow.

Selena Russell

2006-07 marks my
29th year as an educator. I am a Special Education Resource Math/Language
Arts Teacher. My duty is to address the individual needs of 4th and 5th
grade students identified as having a learning disability.
"Too often we see
only the obvious and miss plenty", is one of my most motivating quotes. It
constantly reminds me of the endless contributions my group of students will
some day make, inspite of their disability. Dr. Red Duke, Albert Einstein,
Babyface, Walt Disney, Danny Glover, Mozart and Billy Graham are only a few
of the famous people labeled as disabled, yet rose above all odds and
accomplished much!
My philosophy of
education is... Provided the appropriate setting, staff and resources, ALL
children can learn. |
