Marcella Herrera

It is with great sadness that I report that our friend and colleague Marcella Herrera passed yesterday afternoon. I know that you will join with me in offering heartfelt condolences to the Herrera family which includes our very own Sonya.
Those of you who knew Marcella will understand that even in the past few weeks she spoke of her concern for our students. She wanted to make sure that Wainwright students were being taken care of.
To be honest, believing that Marcella now has the ability to see and hear all that we do will certainly cause me to consider very carefully the decisions that I make that affect both teachers and students. There is just something about the thought of disappointing Marcella that I think may work to keep me on course. Marcella, I believe, would get a big kick out of knowing that she has that kind of influence. Then again, was there ever any doubt that this fine lady wielded tremendous influence?
