Hike The Appalachian Trail

hey there

Well I am at the base of Mt. Katahdin waiting to climb it tomorrow. This has been a much anticipated mountain. Mt. Katahdin will be the second highest altitude I have reached thus far in my journey, Mt. Washington was the highest. What are some of the similarities, differences and interesting facts about these two mountains?

Since I have been in Maine there have been many lakes and ponds, they both look alike to me, what is the difference between a lake and pond? I have really enjoyed my time here in Maine and look forward to traveling back to Harpers Ferry WV to began the southern half of my journey. Look forward to hearing from you guys.
