The doily-embellished construction hearts that hang outside Kasey Bryant’s classroom showcase the valentine rhymes created by her kindergarten students. To celebrate Valentines Day, students’ began their sentiments with the traditional first two lines of the classic “Roses are red, violets are blue,” then each student’s imagination took over for the two final lines. According to Tanvi Sethi, “I love my Mom. Don’t you love her too?” Addie Laucius had a different story line on her mind, noting, “My stickers are old, and my shoes are new.” And across the classroom, Christina Betti observed, “When the Colts score, Miss Bryant says woo-woo.”
