Dear Parents,
Auction week is finally here! The
plans for this weekend’s big event will, I’m sure, make it one of
the best. I hope to see you there.
Please help make our Field Day next
week a fun and safe event by following proper parent and child
etiquette. All spectators who are approved through the HISD VIPS
program and students must stay inside their class’s section. Please
stay back away from the event lanes. Do not stand inches away from
the event participants since it creates an unsafe situation. Please
move back prior to the start of each event.
As a reminder, if you have not been
VIPS approved, you will not be allowed to mingle with your child’s
class. We will have bleachers available for parents who have not
completed this process yet who wish to observe the Field Day events.

I am pleased to announce a new
service provided by Inter-State Studios, our school picture
provider. The parents of each child who had an individual picture
taken on our first “Picture Day” (or who had a makeup picture last
Friday) will receive complimentary Operation Child ID® Photo
Fingerprint Cards. The Operation Child ID® Card is easy to complete
by the child’s parent or guardian with important identifying
information about the child. The large card should then be
maintained in a safe place at home, while the smaller photos can be
clipped and carried in a wallet or purse. While we hope no one will
ever have cause to use the cards, in the event of an emergency, you
can refer to the card should it become necessary to file a missing
child report with the police.
If requested by law enforcement
agencies, Inter-State Studios will provide up to one hundred
complimentary 5”x7” photographs on a rush-order basis to aid in the
search for a missing child. Local authorities can call Inter-State’s
tool-free number located on the cards to request this service.
Inter-State has a special team of employees who have volunteered to
respond 24 hours a day, if necessary to provide this service.
For over twenty years, Operation
Child ID® has played a positive role in several missing children
cases. There is no charge for this program and all students who had
a photograph taken will receive the complimentary cards whether you
purchase a portrait package or not. Please also know that the
digital files maintained by Inter-State are rigorously protected to
guard your child’s privacy.
