A Message from Mr. Sarabia

All,

It is with a heavy heart that I am letting you know I will not be back at Wharton next year.

As many of you already know, I am in a Principalship program through HISD. I started classes this last Spring and my coursework will continue through July 2009. In the meantime, an opportunity to continue to grow and learn in an administrative capacity opened itself up to me and after much consideration I decided to accept. It is a window of opportunity to become a better administrator and hopefully be able to more effectively and positively impact the lives of many more children in the future.

Please know that this was an extremely difficult decision. I still don't feel anything but sad about my leaving, even though I know I will be coming by to check on all my kids and the two God-Daughters I have that attend here. I have the utmost respect and love for Wharton which to me is not the building, but the people associated with it. It is all of you that drive this program forward and that we all depend on to help us make it better. Thank you all for all the support, kindness, respect and friendship that have helped me grow personally as well as professionally. I am forever grateful for my time here. To quote Ms. Ingram when she retired, "My heart bleeds Wharton blood." Until our paths cross again (and they will), take care of yourselves and of each other.

Best,

J. Auden Sarabia
