Uniform and Apparel Policy
NOTE: Clothing or articles that are considered distracting to the
educational process are not permitted. Determination of
distracting clothing or articles will be made by the campus
administrator(s). Failure
to comply with the uniform dress code will result in after school
detention for each offense. Continued refusal to abide by the
uniform contract may result in ISS (in school suspension) ,
Suspension and/or transfer/non-renewal.
The guidelines below cover the major aspects of
our uniform policy. Students will be dressed in the official
uniform every day during school hours. Students are expected to be
neatly dressed and groomed at all times. A belt worn with pants
and shorts is required. All undergarments (undershirts, leggings
shorts, long johns) may be worn under the official uniform.

information.
NEW FOR THE 2009-2010
SCHOOL YEAR: Boys (1st grade and older) must have their
shirts tucked in and are required to wear a belt.
The official uniform consists of the following components:
ELEMENTARY LEVEL (GRADES PK-5) SHIRTS:
Red, White, or Navy Blue polo style shirts are required. T-shirts with
the Wharton logo are acceptable.
MIDDLE SCHOOL LEVEL (GRADES 6-7) SHIRTS:
Black, Yellow, or Green polo style shirts are required. T-shirts
with the Wharton logo are acceptable.
ALL GRADE LEVELS
SHORTS, PANTS, SLACKS, AND SKIRTS:
• Navy and Khaki pants, shorts, and skirts
• The following styles/colors are NOT acceptable; Beige, Cream,
Off-White, Denim, Bell-bottoms, Capri or Cargo-style. Straight leg
style pants will be cuffed or hemmed and will not touch the floor.
• Pants must be proportioned to fit at the waist without having to
use a belt.
• Pant fronts may be pleated or straight. Khaki skirts will be
straight or pleated with the hemline falling just above the knee
to mid-calf.
• Ankle length skirts or excessively baggy uniform pants will not
be permitted.
SHOES:
Tennis shoes and loafers are acceptable shoes to wear. Sandals,
thongs, heels, open-back, and open-toe shoes are not acceptable.
This is a safety that must be adhered to when purchasing school
shoes. |
