Welcome to my site. I had the privilege of going to Japan as a Fulbright Memorial Fund (FMF) participant during November of 2003. (Click the link for more details). I spent 3 weeks in Japan learning about the culture, government, education and other information about Japan. This program promotes a culture exchange of ideas so that there can be  a greater understanding between Americans and Japanese people. This website was developed to share what I have learned with others that have an interest in learning more about Japan. There is a Student Section where the information has been placed. Please feel free to explore this area. There is also a Teacher section with a unit plan as well as resources to be used with the website or independently. It has basically been geared to the elementary level but can be adapted to whichever level you wish to use it for.

I have included my experiences and information about Japan. I spent two weeks out of the three in Tokyo and one week in the City of Hita, Oita. I had the honor of spending one evening and two days with the Tanaka family where I was graciously entertained by Mikki and her family. I would like to express my thanks and appreciation for the experience given to me by the Japanese government and the Fulbright Memorial Fund.  Below are some pictures of me with and my "family"  while in Hita.

A special thanks to my host family, the Tanakas.
