An Environmental Science Magnet School

   "Together We Can Make A Difference!"

Principal

James A. Berry (1809-1876) fought for Texas’ independence
and later served as Treasurer and Commissioner of
Schools for Harris County.

His sons donated the land on which the original
school was built in 1910.

The campus moved to its present location (2310 Berry) in 1950.

The first school opened in September, with one principal,
one teacher and 43 pupils.  

 

Today we have 570 students,  32 classroom teachers, 1 principal, 1 assistant principal, 6 Science Specialist , 1 Science Magnet   Coordinator, 2 Reading Specialist, 1 Nurse, 1 Librarian,
 1 Secretary
, 12 Office Staff,  3 Custodians,
1 gardener and 5 Food Service Workers.
