Code of Student Conduct

The Houston Independent School District has established an outline of student rights and responsibilities that will provide a safe school environment and promote an equal opportunity for all students. The Code of Student Conduct was outlined to inform all students and parents of district wide expectations regarding behavior and conduct. The Code of Conduct is based on policies established by the Board of Education.

Students and parents are expected to become familiar with the district wide Code of Student Conduct. Students and parents are responsible for the rules and regulations adopted by the HISD Board of Education as well as the School-Based Discipline Management System. Students should abide by the rules and policies set forth in the Code of Conduct so that each may experience a safe school environment free of disruptions that interfere with the educational process.
