DRESS CODE FOR STUDENTS

We require parents to dress their children in school uniforms.  This decision was made by the Shared Decision Making Committee based upon Texas Senate Bill.  We feel that having uniform dress will minimize peer pressure, inappropriate dress, and teasing among our students. Students will be expected to wear the following uniform:

Girls and Boys: Khaki Uniform Slacks

  • Warm-ups and stirrup pants, cargo pants, oversized or baggie pants are not acceptable.
  • Pants must be of the correct size and worn with a belt.

Hunter Green Polo style shirts with collar (with school logo preferred)

  • Shirts may not have any type of decoration.
  • Shirts must be worn tucked inside the pants/shorts.

Uniform Sweatshirts

  • Sweatshirts must be hunter green in color (may have the school logo if purchased from school).

Appropriate shoes and socks

  • No sandals or back-less shoes.

_____Uniform Khaki Jumper ________Or____________ Uniform Khaki Skirt or Skorts of an appropriate length.

  • De Zavala sweatshirts may be worn at any time.  If a student is going to take off his/her sweatshirt during the day, he/she must have a hunter green collared shirt underneath.
  • Jewelry and Accessories should be left at home.  Any large pieces of jewelry that may cause distractions are not allowed.  Students may wear inexpensive and durable watches.

COATS/JACKETS

  • Coats and jackets are encouraged to be hunter green in color.
  • Coats and jackets must be unzipped or unbuttoned while inside the building.

BACKPACKS

As a safety precaution, students must carry clear vinyl or mesh see-through backpacks.
