Gifted & Talented Information - Testing Information

If your child is already in the GT Program, there is no reason to apply again. Once a student is accepted into the GT Program, they remain in the program until the end of 5th Grade.

If you have already taken the Naglieri Test within the past year, you may not take a new test. We have to use the test that you have taken within the past year. You may not apply twice within one year for the GT Program.

There are 5 indicators used to qualify for the GT Program. They are:

• Naglieri Score (current - within 1 year)
• Report Card - previous years (within 2 yrs)
• Stanford scores – previous years (within 2 years)
• Parent Observation sheet
• Teacher Observation sheet

If you are interested in having your child apply, please stop by the Magnet Office and pick up an application. If you have questions, please contact Cathy McCleskey or Monica Mendez in the Magnet Office.

District Guidelines are followed by a School G/T Admissions Committee. You will be notified, in writing, of your acceptance or denial into the program. If your application is accepted, you do not have to reapply in elementary school. If your application is denied, you may reapply the following year.
