Dear Parents and Students:

I am very excited about the 2009 - 2010 school year. Welcome! Welcome! Welcome!

Last year was good, but this year will prove to be even more successful as the teachers, the staff, you and I work together. With a team of dedicated professionals focused on "every child learning," our goals for this year will continue to be:

Ø      To increase test scores at each grade level

Ø      To increase the parental and community involvement

Ø      To create a positive campus environment with mutual respect for all students and adults

Ø      To create a college-bound attitude school wide

We are very proud of our building and the many programs offered at Houston Gardens Elementary.  I encourage you to participate in your child's education. In fact, I'm requesting your commitment to attend teacher conferences, Open House, Parent Meetings, Family Nights, Grade Level Meeting Nights, PTA meetings, the Principal's Breakfasts and other events.

I look forward to working with you in the 2009 - 2010 school year.

Respectfully,

 Tarawa F. Groves

Principal
