SIGHTS PROGRAM
The Sights program at J. P. Henderson is designed to meet the needs of those students who demonstrate characteristics and abilities of advanced learners.  Our program, which begins in the 2000-2001 school year, will initially identify first and second grade regular and bilingual students.  Third through fifth grade levels will follow subsequently.  Students are identified as early as Kindergarten and are grouped by ability.  Teachers will then modify and/or individualize their instruction and curriculum to meet the student's needs.  These students are challenged at their level of ability.

       Campus-based criteria:
              Those students who not qualify for the district profile with a score of 62, may qualify for the campus-based profile with a score of 52.  This score is based on the ability test score, achievement score, creativity score, teacher and parent survey and obstacles (if applicable).
