Jonah's Report on The Solar System
by: Jonah L.
The Solar System is the galaxy in which we live in. It consists of nine (9) planets plus the Sun. The first planet from the Sun is Mercury. Mercury is very hot because it is so close to the Sun. The second planet from the Sun is Venus. Venus is covered with thick clouds. Venus is also the third brightest thing in the night sky. The third planet from the Sun is Earth. Earth is the only planet people can live on. Mars is the fourth planet from the Sun. Mars is called the “Red Planet” because it is covered with red sand. The Asteroid Belt separates the inner and outer planets from each other. The next planet is Jupiter. Jupiter is the largest planet in the Solar System and has a giant red storm swirling on it. The sixth, seventh, and eighth planets are Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. Saturn has many rings around it made of ice and dust and Uranus spins on its side. Neptune, the farthest planet from the Sun, looks very blue. That is our Solar System. |
