I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself, and express how excited I am to be your new principal. I feel so fortunate to be a part of this school community. Poe Elementary is a wonderful place for students to learn and grow. Let me begin by sharing a little about myself. I graduated from the University of Houston-Main Campus with a degree in Biology and minored in Chemistry and Music. My Master's degree is in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Science Education. In the past 12 years, I have worked as a high school science teacher, a district science coordinator and an assistant principal. Along with my husband, Stephen, two children, Andrea (7), Stephen Ayden (2) and our terrier, "George," I look forward to being an integral part of the Poe community. When I am not at work, I enjoy playing the piano and spending time with close friends and family. I find comfort in a good mystery novel, and will not pass on "anything chocolate!"
After four busy weeks at Poe, I am settled in and feeling very welcomed. I appreciate your ideas as we work to plan for the school's future and take Poe students to even greater heights in their academic journey.
