ATTENDANCE

Coming to school everyday is important for the academic success and overall well-being of the student.  Every student is expected to attend school every day and on time.

If a student is absent, he or she should bring a written excuse within 2 days of returning to school.  The note should include the date of the absence, the reason for the absence, and a parent and/or doctor’s signature.

If a student fails to present an excuse after 2 absences, the district is required to file a complaint with the Harris County Justice of the Pease Courts against the parent or legal guardian.

Attendance is also an HISD promotion standard. Students having more than 4 unexcused absences will result in consideration of failure for the student even thought the grades were passing. An asterisk (*) will appear on the report card next to the grades.

If a student is tardy, he or she must stop by the office to receive a tardy slip. If a student is tardy more than 6 times, the parent must meet with an administrator.

Students who do attend school everyday will be recognized for their efforts per six-week cycle and at the end of the academic year.

WITHDRAWALS

If you plan to move outside of our attendance zone, you will need to notify us of the withdrawal date at least 1 day in advance so that we can prepare all the necessary paperwork.

 

ASISTENCIA

Es importante asistir a la escuela todos los días para asegurar el éxito y el bienestar de los estudiantes. Se espera que todo estudiante asista y llegue a tiempo.

Si un estudiante falta, debe traer una nota escrita dentro de 2 días que regrese a la escuela. La nota debe incluír la fecha de la ausencia, la razón por la ausencia, y la firma del padre o del médico.

Si el estudiante no presenta la nota después de 2 ausencias, es requisito que el distrito presente queja con la corte del Departamento de Justicia del Condado de Harris contra el padre o tutor.

La asistencia también es requisito para ser promovido al siguiente grado. Estudiantes con más de 4 ausencias sin excusa resultará en que el estudiante sea reprobado aunque las calificaciones sean satisfactorias. Un asterisco (*) aparecerá en el reporte al lado de las calificaciones.

Si su niño llega tarde a la escuela, tiene que pasar a la oficina para recibir su boleta de tardanza. Si un estudiante llega tarde más de 6 veces, los padres tendrán conferencia con el director.

Estudiantes con faltas durante el ciclo de seis semanas no serán reconocidos por sus esfuerzos al fin del ciclo o al final del año.

TRASLADO A OTRA ESCUELA

Si tienen pensado cambiar de domicilio fuera de nuestra área de asistencia, por favor avisen a la administración por lo menos 1 día antes para preparar toda la documentación necesaria.
