MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the 2008-2009 school year at Port Houston Elementary.  The staff here at Port Houston is committed to the academic success and well-being of every student.  Along with this handbook is a day planner that every student can use to organize his or her day effectively.  Time management is essential for students to be successful in school and eventually in the workplace. 

Students: Organize your day, take advantage of the wonderful things the school has to offer, and use your planner to complete your work at home.

Parents: Please ask to see your child’s planner everyday.  Teachers may include notes and important information for you and your child.  You can also respond to your child’s teacher in your planner as well.

2008-2009 is sure to be an excellent year, here, at Port Houston Elementary!

Es un gran placer darles la bienvenida al año escolar 2008-2009 en la Escuela Primaria Port Houston. Los maestros y el personal de la Escuela Primaria Port Houston se comprometen al éxito académico y el bienestar de cada estudiante. Junto con este manual, esta una agenda para que cada estudiante pueda organizar su día eficazmente. El uso y manejo del tiempo es esencial para que los estudiantes tengan éxito en la escuela y eventualmente en el lugar de trabajo.

Estudiantes: Organicen su día, tomen ventaja de lo que tiene la escuela que ofrecer, y usen su agenda para cumplir con tareas en la casa.

Padres: Por favor pídanles a sus hijos la agenda cada día. Los maestros pueden incluír notas o información para ustedes o sus hijos. Además pueden escribir sus propios mensajes a los maestros.

¡2008-2009 promete ser un año excelente aquí en la Escuela Primaria Port Houston!
