Don’t forget to sign up for the Fun Run and Book Fair
Family Day, set for Saturday, November 1st.
A registration form is in your packet – sign up early so we can
order enough t-shirts for the kids! If
you have any questions, call Jessica Pugil or email her at jpugil@centerforhoustonsfuture.org.
Dear Parents,
The River Oaks Elementary PTO has a very active year planned. And as a
result of your feedback last year, we’re trying some new things. For
instance, proceeds of the Sally Foster campaign this year will be used to defray
the cost of computers and printers in classrooms and the computer lab.
The Book Fair Family Day will be held in conjunction with the Fun Run on
Saturday November 1. The complete calendar of fun and fundraising events
is as follows:

Through these events and other PTO activities, we’re working hard to
improve communications with you, continue supporting our children’s
education and provide opportunities to strengthen the sense of community
at River Oaks Elementary.
This is a pivotal year for ROE for two reasons. First, we’ll be planning
for a major renovation. In addition, throughout the year, we’ll
commemorate the 75th anniversary of our school. This milestone
gives us an opportunity to reach out to our alumni, local businesses and
neighbors to support ROE and ensure that the school renovation results in
a premier facility for our children. The formal celebration of the 75th
anniversary will be Friday Apr. 2 through Sunday Apr. 4.
I hope you’ll join us for as many of these events as possible, and that
you’ll consider sharing your talents with the PTO. Check the volunteer
section of this website to find out about our volunteer needs. We make it
easy for you to choose an activity that fits your interests and time
constraints. The advantages our children have as ROE students result in
large part from your contribution of time and resources.
On behalf of the PTO, thank you for your continued commitment to ROE
students, faculty and staff.
Best regards,
Karin Knapp

teachers.
