Bravery Is You
Dedicated to Mrs. Pu
Chorus
You are brave, you are strong, and we are not wrong!
Bravery is in your soul, and you’re really whole,
And we save this memory for you,
Because we have a clue it’s inside you!
You were born in Beijing,
And when you moved to Shang Hai you had to say good- bye. The war was treacherous and also capricious.
It was hard for you!
Chorus
The Japanese took over in 1938.
You moved to the U.S. in 1948.
For you it was a pearl, when you had three girls.
Chorus
The birds in the house flew; they were in a giant stew. When the earthquake hit, you said, “What can I do?”
You had to move the furniture, that’s all you could do.
Chorus
When you went to Scotland in 1984,
You had to wait for the bus at 7:00 in the morning.
The weather was beautiful and the birds were soaring.
It was very different for you!
Chorus
In 1987 you moved to Florida for 20 years.
Your house’s land was buoyant on the water.
You were the first to evacuate, and saw the water rising. You were sighing, and you said, “I’m going to my friend’s house.”
Chorus
When you came back from your friend’s house, you ate.
But you were too late!
The hurricane emerged again!
At least your friend salvaged you!
