Howdy Scroggins! I was playing on the internet and found your web page. Neat! It was interesting to see all the different changes you made in the staffing. Where is Shelly Washington? I love my new school. Thirds grade is wonderful. They still say cute things like first graders, but are able to do a lot more for themselves. Married life is great also. It as worth all the headaches, planning, and driving I did and had last year. I will soon have internet in my classroom and would love to hear from you. Until then you may e-mail my at my mother-in-laws address- mlong@tstar.net. Take care and I miss you, Kristina Long (Butt)

My name is Barbara Gale (Scroggins)Dzvonick I am excited about your school because it has my fathers name. He passed away in 1959 He appreciated education. I would like more information about this. I would also like to say- Children take computers for granted today. Some people think computers are for games. It takes my breath away to know I can sit in my own home, and have the world at my fingertips. I can go anywhere in the world I want to and talk with most any one who wants to speak with me. I can learn of their coustoms, lifestyles, and the history of the land they live in. Is this not the most fantastic adventure one could wish for? Knowledge is the key that opens the doorways of life! It is more precious then silver, gold, diamonds or money, and to think you get this opportunity to learn from your classroom seat. It is the most priceless gift anyone could give. You only pass this way once. Young minds are naturally hungery for knowledge, and even though it is offered free it is up to the student to decide how much he/she will recieve of this gift. Life is an adventure. You are the person who decides your future. You can be whatever you wish. The choice is yours. Pay attention in class to the lessons at hand. Study,(find ways to make it fun.) Choose things that interest you to learn about once in awhile. Remember you are peparing for a journey that will take you a lifetime to complete. You are stocking the computers of your mind as you would a suitcase. Put enough in it to take you where you want to go. Think now, where you are going on your journey into the future. Parents and teachers will be happy to help you any way they can. If you will learn how to pack your suitcase now while you are young, you will continue to learn always. Would you like to be a world traveler? Start packing. Thank you for your time. I have your address. I will send mine. I would love to hear from you. Gale Scroggins Dzvonick

Ellen and gang, Of course, I couldn't take a peek at your website without saying hi. It is fun to look at all the changes. I think about you all the fun and learning that I did at Scroggins. I wonder what everyone is up to. I'm pleasantly surprised to see that Eva is still at Scroggins. I thought that her son would be in school in the area that she lives in therefore, she would want to be in that school district. Good for her! We moved back to Indiana last May. I just missed my family too much. I also wanted Olivia (my 19 month old daughter) to grow up with cousins, aunts and uncles, and grandparents. We have been welcomed with a lot of snow. Over 2 feet! Some of it has melted and we are dealing with "snirt" (snow and dirt). What a beautiful site. I'm teaching 2nd grade in the elementary I grew up in. I'm actually in the same class I had for third grade. Funny how you make a full circle. Well, that is the short version of what is happening. Hope all is well. Say hi to everyone. Exspecially Eva. Hi Scroggins,

We just had our third day of proficiency testing and I am beat! Just like TAAS. All is well in Ohio, but I miss Texas almost every day. The warm weather and southern folks made it a great place to be.

Mrs. Pease is expecting baby number three and I am expecting a third year without any sleep. Things sure do change when these little people come! Katie is two and a half and David is 16 months. The new names are Elizabeth for a girl and for the boy, well... TBA in October.

Thanks for providing the web site. It is always great to see familiar sights and names.

Take Care,

Ken Pease

Doing my yearly check on good ole Scroggins Elem. It is always fun to see what changes have taken place. I noticed Eva McGuire is no longer with the staff? Where did she go? I still in Northern Indiana. We have two daughters now. Olivia 3 1/2 and Madelyn 1. I think about you guys every now and again. Say hi to all that remember me. Kristina (Butt) Long

Your site looks interesting and I definitely will return to it! Hmmmm. Mr. Garre LaGrone is your teacher?? Is he related to John LaGrone the old SMU All-American or Oliver LaGrone, the poet...of Oliver LaGrone Architectural Park fame (Alburquerque NMex)? It would be nice to communicate with Mr. LaGrone.... in either case. Gracias, Senor LaGrone, porque me interesa mucho su sitio, especialmente las secciones bi-lingues. Me gustaria continuar este contacto. Que Dios te bendiga, amigo. John E. LaGrone St. Louis, MO

Hi I didn't go to Scroggins but grew up on Boyce and Boyles before Scroginns was built in the 60's. I went to LL Pugh from 1955 till I graduated to McReynolds Jr. High as it was called back then, my mother still owns a home that she rents out in the neighborhood. Good site! Beverly Rivera

hi! my name is javier chavez jr. I atended scroggins from 1992-1995. my teachers were *2nd grade-mrs. estrada *3rd grade-mrs satarahasmen (hope it's spelled right) *4th grade mrs. rodriguez *5th grade mrs. mrs. satarahasmen. well, i had a great time at scroggins and i am proud ot say i attended that school. I loved the art classses specially the music classes. I was part of the scroggins choir for the hollyday season. and to this day i use that choir as the begining of my musical career. After leaving scroggins I wen't on to Gregory Lincoln Fine Arts Academy. I consentrated in both art and music, ther i learned how the basics of various musical instruments. And above all it fed the great love for music that i first developed at scroggins. I then attended Stephen F. High School for the teaching professions. I was a member of the Mustang Marching Band. I held office as captain of the band my junior year and Head Drum Major my senior year. I graduated in 2003, i can still remember every single one of the schools i attended. I remember the joy and the feel of safety that these 3 schools provided me with. I am now a student at Texas Southern University, and I am a member of the world famed "OCEAN of SOUl" Marching Band from tigerland. I also work part time as a nurse assistant at st. lukes hospital. I want to thank all my teachers and the faculty at scroggins for bringing to our comunity a school like scroggins. thank you javier chavez jr. class of 92-95
