EvenStart is a family literacy program with four basic components:

• The Adult Education portion is for parents who want to stdy ABE (Adult Basic Education, ASE (Adult Secondary Education), GED (General Equivalency Diploma), or learn/improve their English (ESL). Included are literacy tutorials, computer literacy and parenting classes.
• The Early Childhood Education component is for children ages 6 weeks to 7 years old. It is designed to give children the necessary tools for their future academic success. Diagnostic tests and follow-up evaluations are given annually.
• The Interactive Literacy Acitivities are songs, finger plays, games, rhymes, and other fun activities which the parents learn and teach to their children to help them learn and reinforce skills taught in school.
• Monthly Home Visits are designed specifically to assist families to attain their personal and familial academic goals.
