Digital Publishing Fair Guidelines

For Parents

Rubrics:

Guidelines:

  1. Must be printed using a word processor. Illustrations may be original works of art inserted either manually or digitally (using a digital camera, scanner, clip art, or graphics from the Internet, etc.). Copyrighted material must be documented on the Citation Page.
  2. Entries must be hard-cover bound (not stapled, spiral bound, or using blank pages, i.e. scrapbook).
  3. "Reflection Page" should include student's reflections on the process of creating their digital book as well as software used..
  4. "About the Author" page should include:

(a) Student  name ,
(b) Teacher Full Name
(c) Student Grade Level
(d) Narrative About the Writer. For judging purposes,

5. Have a parent or your teacher EDIT your Work.

Bound hard-cover (fiction or non-fiction) entries:
1. Must be printed using a word processor. Illustrations may be original works of art inserted digitally (using a digital camera, scanner, clip art, or graphics from the Internet, etc.). Copyrighted material must be documented on the Citation Page.
2. Entries must be hard-cover bound (not stapled, spiral bound, or using blank pages, i.e. scrapbook. Hard cover kits may be purchased from the computer lab.
3. "Reflection Page" should include student's reflections on the process of creating their digital book as well as software used..
4. "About the Author" page should include: (a.) Student FIRST name only, (b.) Teacher Full Name (c.) Student Grade Level, and (d.) Narrative About the Writer. For judging purposes, please DO NOT include school name on the "About the Author" page or anywhere else in the book.

* The Short story Rubric will be used by the Judges. This will give you an idea of what they will be looking for.
