Text Box: Free Meals for Houston ISD Youth HISD will provide free breakfast and lunch to all the children in the Houston Area. Whidby's cafeteria will be open for breakfast beginning June 05, 2008 at 7:15am.  The last day for this service will be July 02, 2008.   Text Box: Whidby is Celebrating...  Our school has a lot to shout about in 2008.  Text Box: Whidby is a TEA Recognized Campus Whidby is celebrating!!! The school has received a Recognized rating from the Texas Educator Association (TEA). Ms. York  and the entire staff at Whidby are very excited and proud of the students in grades 3rd - 5th. Let's keep up the EXCELLENT work next year... Text Box: Houston ISD Kicks off Its Millionaire Book Club Students took home a form on May 29, 2008 detailing the steps for HISD's Millionaire Club. The club is designed to encourage students to read books over the summer. A minimum of five books should be read and recorded on the form that the student took home. The form should also be signed by either a parent, guardian, or librarian. The students are to bring the completed forms back to school in August to receive cool and exciting gifts. Each completed form will placed in a drawing for more prizes.
