“Building a Community of Learners”
The mission of Young Elementary is to promote high levels of learning for all students entrusted in us.

A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Our primary objective at Young Elementary School is to provide your child with the best free education possible, to help your child learn to work with others, and to help your child make good decisions. Parents are the original teachers. When your child comes to school, we simply partner with you to help your child develop his or her full potential as a student and as a citizen. When teachers and parents work together, children always succeed.
This year, Young Elementary offers students a number of programs such as the Texas School Ready Project for Pre-kindergarten teachers and students, the Reasoning Mind math software for students in Grades 3 through 5, Sharon Wells math for students in Grades 2 through 5, Reading Mastery for students in Grades K through 2, and Corrective Reading for students in Grades 3 through 5. We also have the CASE After-School Program that operates daily from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.
We achieved TEA Recognition for the 2009-2010 year, and we are striving for Exemplary status at the end of this school year. We are honored to be your school of choice, and we look forward to partnering with you.
